Do not be anxious

There's a little patch of grass growing through the crack in my concrete driveway. It has been there long enough that it has developed some seed. This morning three little sparrows are enjoying feeding on it. Now there are four. I guess they are taking the seed or insects from the top of it. Now there are five. I imagine they are getting some bugs or nutrients from the grass. I thought maybe they were using it as straw for a nest but they seem to be feeding on it.
I see that patch of grass as a weed, something to dig up, Something to be destroyed and dispatched. When I spray the grass that grow in the cracks, I never think that maybe God allows that grass to feed the sparrows. I just see it as something that must be eliminated. What I see as a weed, the sparrows see as feed.
I think about retiring from the ministry in 3 years. And in the back of my mind I wonder how I'm going to make it when I don't have a regular paycheck. When I only have retirement savings and social security to live on. I know I shouldn't be anxious because God, you feed the sparrows of the field. Not one of them falls from the sky that you're not aware of. And Jesus, you said that I am more valuable than they are.
God, if you take care of the sparrows, you will take care of us. You promise to supply all of our needs according to your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. King David said, " I have been young and now I'm old and I'm never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread." Lord help me to trust in you. Help me to believe what I believe. Help me to know that you will take care of your own. We are valuable to you. I am valuable to you. I am more valuable than the sparrows and you care for them. My life belongs to you. You are Jehovah-Jireh. The Lord who provides.
Jesus said, "Do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:31-33
