ZION
BRETHREN IN CHRIST
Get Involved!
As Zion continues to grow, we invite you to become actively involved in the various ministries within our church. Whether you have a passion for outreach, worship, education, or fellowship, there are numerous opportunities for you to contribute your time and talents.
Being involved in your church not only enriches the lives of others, but also deepens your own spiritual journey in Christ. If you aren't sure where you "fit," we encourage you to give multiple things a try and see which ministry brings you joy.
Below are some of the ministries offered at Zion, to learn more about how you can be involved, please reach out to the appropriate people listed or contact our office
at 785-598-2450. We look forward to serving with you!
Audio and Visual Team
Be a part of the team that helps bring worship to life! The Zion AV Team runs sound and video for Sunday services and special events, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for all. No prior experience? No problem! We provide training tailored to your skill level. With a flexible schedule and a welcoming team, this is a great opportunity to serve, learn, and make an impact. Come be a part of this exciting ministry!
KidZone
KidZone at Zion is the perfect place for kids (ages 3 through 5th grade) to grow in their faith while having a blast! Led by Becca Lahr and her amazing team of leaders, KidZone meets Wednesdays at 6:30PM (following the Dickinson County school calendar). Through interactive lessons, games, and engaging activities, we help kids discover God's love in a fun and meaningful way. We can't wait to welcome your child here!
Children's Church & Sunday School
We are always in need of more Children's Church and Sunday School teachers. Children's Church teachers run on a weekly rotation, so you don't have to have too much commitment to help in this ministry.
Our Children's Sunday School teachers teach for one quarter (about three months) on Sunday mornings. The curriculum is very easy to follow and the kids LOVE it!
Nursery
Our nursery volunteers rotate weekly. Volunteers help parents check their children in/out and get to love on the babies and toddlers during the sermon. We do have the sermon on overhead speakers so our nursery staff don't miss out on the message.
Worship
Zion has an amazing worship team! If music is a passion of yours, we encourage you to reach out to Jacob or Emily Engle and set up an audtion to join!
Kitchen Committee
Zion has several potlucks, family meals, special events, and more that require our dedicated kitchen committee. If you enjoy serving your congregation and helping prepare food, please reach out to Roberta Robertson about joining this special ministry.
Adult Sunday School
We offer Sunday school classes for youth and adults starting at 9:30am on Sunday mornings. We do classes on a quarterly rotation. We are always looking for Sunday School class leaders who are Biblically knowledgeable. If you are interested in leading a class, please reach out to Tim Wilkins.
Start a Small Group
While Zion has some small groups already in motion, we would love to see 2-3 more start and grow here. Small groups are a great way to fellowship and dive deeper into Sunday's message. If you would like to start a small group, please reach out to the office.
NextGen Youth
Our youth group is outstanding. We would love to have your student join in on the fun! NextGen is for 6th-12th grade. They meet every Sunday for Sunday school class at 9:30 am and have a youth group that meets every Wednesday night following the school calendar at 6:30pm. If you have a student interested in attending, please just show up or reach out to our youth Pastor Chris Hartwick.
