Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at a Sunday worship service?

Sunday worship services are our time to coorporately give thanks for what the Lord is doing in our lives and in the world around us. It's also a time for us to be challenged with Biblical teaching, and to evaluate how that will transform our practical, everyday lives. We view every aspect of the service as worship: the music, prayer, giving, teaching, and surrendering ourselves to what God wants to do in our lives. What should I wear to church?
Please feel free to wear whatever you would like. God is more concerned with your heart than with your clothing! There will be people in all kinds of attire, so you need not feel uncomfortable.

Do I need to bring a Bible?
If you have a Bible that you like to use, please feel free to bring it with you. However, if you do not have one, don't worry. There are Bibles available for you to use here!

What is available for my kids?

We realize that as the spiritual leader in your children's lives, knowing what will be happening during their time at church is important to you. Our Children's & Youth ministry teams strive to provide safe, fun Biblical training that your children will look forward to weekly. Sunday mornings, there is programming available for children during the Sunday School hour beginning at 9:30.

Since we highly value the family community and influence, our children join us for the first part of the church service at 10:40. During the second half of the service there is Children's Church for PreK - 3rd grade.

Nursery is available for ages 0-2 for the entire time Sunday mornings.

Will I be asked to give money?
We want you to know that you are not expected to put a check or cash into the offering plate when you visit us. We encourage those who call Zion home to worship God by giving during this time. Feel free to pass the plates and enjoy the music.

Will I be singled out as a first-time visitor?

During the worship service you will not be singled out or asked to stand as a first time visitor. Not because we don’t want to get to know you, but we know that sometimes it is difficult enough just to come into the front doors the first time. There will be an opportunity for you to fill out a visitor card and let us know who you are and to request more information about Zion or to have us pray for requests that you may have. Every week in our bulletins there is a tear off portion of the bulletin that you can fill out and put in the offering plate.

What kind of music can I expect?
At Zion, we enjoy a blended service in music style. You will hear both hymns and choruses, as well as a mix of instrumentation. You will also see many diverse means of communication: music, video, drama, and more.
